I met Max a while ago, after not seeing him for quite some time. He graduated from Sint Lucas as a glassblower a discipline that immediately intrigued me. I had never seen anyone work with glass in such an intimate way. Max’s process begins quietly, at home, where he shapes the first molds by hand. Later, in his studio, the real transformation happens. The furnace glows, the air thick with heat, as he blows molten glass into the forms he designed. The shapes, inspired by Lego blocks, seem to balance between playfulness and precision. Each piece is made in a different color, a reflection of his curiosity and sense of experimentation. Through my lens, I followed his movements the rhythm of his breath, the tension of the material, the moment the glass takes shape. What I witnessed wasn’t just craftsmanship, but a dialogue between control and chance. It was mesmerizing to see how something so fragile could hold so much strength and beauty.
